A lifelong Texan, I grew up with both parents in the sports and entertainment industry. My mother worked for the Houston Astros, and my father worked for the Houston Oilers. Coming up in that environment fueled my love for sports and athletics in general. In school I ran track and played football and was very active. I picked up strength training in my early 20's and enjoyed the aesthetic benefits of lifting. Looking for another competitive outlet, I joined Richard Lord's boxing gym and started a decade long journey of learning the sweet science of boxing! I've sparred several amateur champion fighters and professional boxers and MMA fighters.
I decided to make a career out of fitness, attaining several certifications from corrective exercise to nutrition.
In my late 20s, I started to experience lower back pain from an old ankle sprain I discounted at that time. The injury became chronic, and there practically wasn't a day I didn't wake up in considerable back pain. Even with all the knowledge, resources, and experience, I couldn't seem to find adequate relief. I lost energy and joy in exercise, as not only did it seem to not help but exacerbate the issue. I was in the worst shape of my life.
I started to noitce Functional Patterns Instagram posts and wasn't sure what to think. I saw that one of my ex-coworkers got certified, so I reached out to him to get his thoughts. He convinced me to try the 10-week course. Pain that I had been dealing with for 8 years was either gone or 90 percent healed. I was amazed at the results. Not only was I out of pain, but FP gave me back the athleticism I lost from agong and inactivity. FP has allowed me to regain my youth and improve my athleticism. I look forward to helping others on this journey and creating an active society in Texas and beyond.
